Staff shortages mean that Island Line services between Ryde and Shanklin will be significantly disrupted again today (Thursday).
It has been confirmed that a total of 16 journeys have been scrapped for Thursday as a result of a member of the train crew being ‘unavailable’ – presumably because of COVID-19.
Despite investing £26million in the Ryde Pier Head to Shanklin line, the Island Line service has been far from reliable since resuming operations in late 2021. A lack of staff has been a continuing problem for several weeks.
Yesterday (Wednesday), 10 journeys were pulled at short notice.
