An exclusive fundraising dining experience will take place at East Afton Farmhouse at the start of 2026, bringing together some of the Isle of Wight’s finest chefs in support of mental health in the hospitality industry.
‘Monochrome Monday’ is being held in support of The Burnt Chef Project, with all proceeds from ticket sales, the on‑night raffle and auction going directly to support the work of The Burnt Chef Project.
The date of Monday 19th January has been chosen as traditionally the third Monday of January is known as ‘Blue Monday’, the most depressing day of the year, and so the organisers wanted to put a positive spin on it, and rebrand it as ‘Monochrome Monday’, focusing on the brand colours – black and white.
The Burnt Chef Project is a non‑profit organisation working to end the stigma surrounding mental health in the hospitality sector. Funds raised through the event will support their 24/7 text support line, free training programmes and wider wellbeing services aimed at helping chefs, servers, kitchen porters and other hospitality professionals across the UK.
Guests will enjoy a 5‑course tasting menu designed and cooked by Dan from Harvey Browns, Ramona from Stripped Brassiere, Damian from Artisan Café, Seb previously from IOW Cocktail’s MEAT, and Alex from Eat Street. Attendees can also expect a complimentary welcome drink from The Unknown Bar Company, a charity raffle and an exciting auction featuring unique, money can’t buy prizes.
Alex Wibberley, owner of Eat Street in Cowes and one of the local organisers, has said:
“We took part in a fundraising event in London in January for The Burnt Chef Project, and loved the experience. So we wanted to arrange an evening on the Island to showcase some of the amazing chefs we have over here, whilst also raising awareness and funds in support of this wonderful cause.
“This event will bring together some of the Island’s best hospitality companies, offering guests a delicious 5 course meal, complimentary arrival drink, raffle, and auction.”
East Afton Farmhouse, near Freshwater, will provide the backdrop for this special event, with its rural setting and contemporary charm offering the perfect environment for an evening of good food and meaningful fundraising.
Tickets are priced at £65 per person, which includes all 5 courses, a welcome drink and full access to the event’s fundraising activities. There are also options to upgrade your table to the VIP package which includes private waiter service and a magnum of champagne.
Places are limited and expected to sell out quickly. To secure your seat at the table, tickets can be booked online at https://www.tickettailor.com/events/theburntchefproject/1689378.
