MOBILE PHONE DISRUPTION FOR VODAFONE AND O2 CUSTOMERS


Mobile phone users on the Vodafone or O2 networks may face disruption to their service this week.

The telecoms giants are undertaking work in the Newport area which may lead to issues sending and receiving calls and texts. Data usage may also be hit.

Although it is unclear what work is being carried out, it is known that disruption is likely to continue until the end of the week.

Vodafone say that things should be back to normal by 18:00 on Thursday, whilst O2 say it will be 18:00 on Friday before the improvement works are complete.

A spokesperson for O2 has today (Monday) said:

“We’re carrying out some upgrade work to help improve our network. While we do this, you might have some trouble with your calls, texts and data.

“We’re working as fast as we can.”
