MIGRANT BOAT FOUND WASHED ASHORE ON ISLE OF WIGHT BEACH

Img 3304An inflatable dinghy, thought to have been used by migrants to cross the English Channel, has been found washed ashore on an Isle of Wight beach.

The discovery was made on Thursday lunchtime at Whale Chine, off Military Road.

The damaged inflatable, with partially deflated tubing, was discovered on the beach alongside a number of items including an iPod, an Adidas hat and bag, and a container of fuel or water.

Article continues below this advertisement

It’s unclear at this time if the occupants of the boat managed to make it ashore and, if so, whether they came ashore in the South Wight.

The boat – with a missing outboard – is marked MG28.

“The damaged inflatable, with partially deflated tubing, was discovered on the beach alongside a number of items including an iPod, an Adidas hat and bag, and a container of fuel or water.”

From the type of expensive belongings they have just randomly left then it is plain that these are not (nor ever are) refugees who have had to flee some war torn, economicly deprived counry but rather economic migrants who already have money but wants more from the back of a country who they know will grant it to them.

it is simple – anyone arriving from france in a dinghy should simply be dumped back in france – as it is not a war torn country. Demand that france push them back into the country next door, that they travelled through and keep that up – until they reach the place they left.

Do you not think as many do that this tendency of laxity in these matters isn’t being actively encouraged in the higher realms of power ? All part of the Kalergi agenda of diluting the cultural/political sovereignties’ of the nations being infiltrated, without a shot being fired essentially.

When people flee a war torn country they call home they leave with a bag of belongings as before war came to their country they lived exactly like we do, work, home, belongings. If you were to flee wouldn’t you pack some things for the journey? Not knowing where you’ll end up, not knowing if you’ll see home again. Not EVERY person seeking refuge is a scammer for gods sake!

Fills me with sadness, all the negative comments from racist and inhumane people on the Isle of Wight. They should go spend some time in a war zone and see for themselves what this world is really like. You were all just plain lucky you were born here and not there. Go get some lessons in compassion. One day it might be you. Thank you Realist, you make me feel less alone with my opinions…

Is doesn’t matter what countries the so called refugees come from. They have no right to invade a country to then claim political asylum. They are supposed to do so in the first safe country they enter. You only have to look at towns and cities to see the increase in major crimes committed by these people. They are in the UK for the free handouts they are given and nothing else.

You’re very wrong about that. There is no set rule or law about claiming Asylum in the first country they get to. They can pass through 100 countries if they needed to, and could still claim Asylum at the 95th

When we see videos of so called refugees in Folkestone etc. They all have smart phones etc. Many are not even from war torn countries, if they are then they are young enough to fight for their country just like our young men and women did during our wars. Many conveniently lose their passports etc so that they cannot be returned to wherever they originally came from, this is because they are hiding something. The dinghies are the modern day Trojan Horse.

Stacy, they are here illegally. They could be drug dealers, murderers and thugs. A report released recently stated, majority of these illegals are from Albania. We all know Albania is not part of the EU and have many drug and gang problems. You really want people like that living here on the island? We’ve got a big enough drug problem already, we don’t need anymore.

They usually dump the life jackets close to the boat if they reach shore. If they were the other items, then expect new faces at the car washes.

Actually it is. Before Brexit we had an agreement with France called the Dublin Treaty. This enabled us to send migrants back to France. Since we left the EU we no longer have this.

We now pay France to stop these invaders. But these people are not true asylum seekers as they are not able to show the required documents that are required.
The Dublin Agreement never worked anyway as with many agreements with the EU. It was not a Tory Brexit simply because the public went against Cameron’s wishers and voted to leave.

Oh, do grow up.

Yeah you “won”, but none of the promised benefits of Brexit have materialised. Not one.

You were lied to. They were blatant and obvious lies that anyone with an ounce of them intelligence could see through. You were told they were lies time and time again, yet still you voted to give control of your life to billionaire elitists.

And look what it got you. Increased migration with fewer being returned, spiralling cost of living, massive border queues, masses of extra tape for businesses and giving the Scottish an excuse for another independence referendum.

You were had, scammed and taken for fools.

You are an idiot.

I saw this boat with a few people in from Freshwater cliffs. I can’t remember what morning, but it was extremely early and they were so far out for a small boat I thought it was strange. They didn’t come into the bay and went further around the coast.

We saw a group of Foreign Individuals dragging small cases a children through a field near Brighstone about a month ago.
Also we saw a group who had been dropped on Forest Road with small cases walking through the grass hedges.
We thought at the time it was unusual ?

Tourists are a great asset to the economy. To which they bolster local service industries therefore improving the quality of local restaurants and food outlets. It’s amazing how economics can work in the right hands.

What lovely people you have living on the island, judging by the comments it’s changed a lot since I lived there. Shame makes me less proud to be from the island

Who are you kidding? The Island was never some wonderful utopia of liberal thinking people. It was much worse than it is now actually, you would never see any black people and being gay was scandalous

Wow… You people are awful.
Ukrainian refugees are very welcome: flags everywhere, little yellow and blue hue on your Facebook profile pic. But then they’re white aren’t they. They don’t have to stop at the next country? Nope, not the white ones!
Brown refugees: “dump them back in France”, “invading our country”, “I’m looking for some slaves (!?)”.
There could have been a tragedy at sea with many souls lost. “It’s their own fault” I hear you cry through your red-faced rage. You are a bunch of gammony snowflakes with a total lack of compassion and empathy and an abundance of fascist nationalism. I’m embarrassed that you’re British.

Where they from Freshwater?. People going around in Vans stealing – been going for year’s and 99% are British, Used to be labelled as Irish or Brumies in same way, stereo typical sad people who create false fear’s,yes maybe but don’t tar all with same. Like saying all British white men over 25yrs are Peados, all American teenagers are mass murderers. Without foreigners – you would have no food,no mobile phone,no car’s,no planes, boats, hospitals or a life. We all are needed and important in many ways. These people would work to pay own way,but it’s our government that say’s NO which is why costs tax payers, again I would rather not pay Taxes for consistent law breakers who cause upset and harm to our community and get paid many benefits for their drugged lifestyle.

Maybe because one group are actual refugees fleeing from a war, predominantly women and children while the men fight in the war. The other group is predominantly young Arabic/African/Albanian men with smartphones coming from god knows where.

They really ought to stick to Dover. They get instant help there, and unlike the isle of wight they won’t have to pay for a ferry to get onto the mainland.

Very rarely do you see women and children getting off the boats! It’s always dodgy looking Eastern European lads, there not genuine refugees at all, I’m all up for helping anyone genuinely in need but most of them coming over arnt even escaping anything bad there just coming to get up to no good and send there drug money back! Some of the biggest drug gangs flooding the south are the Albanians and there ruthless!!

Some very nasty and racists comments, people need to get fact’s .1) Not all Illegal immigrants are committing crime all over our cities. Albania gang’s travel back and forth to Albania on flights like we go on holiday, those that are seeking refuge are mostly fleeing the gangs in Albania.
2) French charities provide clothing and phones ,homes let them charge phones/shower/laundry etc. 3) Yes I do offer a home for two refuges ,it’s some of the nutters on the Island who drug use and always crashing their/stollen cars you should worry about.
The world is a big place, just because you from another country/culture does not make them bad people.

Island Echo, something wrong, when I thumbs up a comment it takes off anything from 5/10 scores so this maybe why comments look a bit odd. Sorry to Realist I approved you’re comment but it added 10 negative – red. Others I tried to negative and added 5 positive green !

Interesting comment related to a trojan horse, I have been concerned since first seeing the boats full of young men who put their hoods up when the cameras are on them, is there an underlying agenda beside money seems like an organised following of some sort. I have written to government raising concerns as I suspect many of you have. It is inappropriate how we are dealing wit illegal immigration, we are a laughing stock.
We are rapidly moving towards losing status as a sovereign state.

Yes because we’re over crowded and struggling to fend for ourselves as it is. Find them and send them back the land they’ve come from is far bigger and wealthier than this one.
