Investigations have been launched following an incident that saw a country pub broken into by thieves armed with an axe.
Officers from Hampshire Constabulary have attended the Sun Inn in Hulverstone following reports made by the management of a break-in.
CCTV footage shows at least 2 people dressed in masks and hoods smashing into the pub via a back door whilst holding an axe at around 23:45 on Tuesday evening (24th August).
According to the pub, the perpetrators then allegedly stole a safe containing the pub’s takings alongside other items.
The management of the pub is asking anyone with any information to get in contact with them or call the police on 101.
A Sun Inn spokesperson said:
“Thank you as always to our amazing team for dealing with this in their usual positive way. As they say, the show must go on.”

How do these thugs know where to target? They weren’t breaking in for a pint of fosters. How did they know the safe had money in?
Probably because that is what a safe is for
Durr.
What a shame, but at least we know where they keep their shed key now!
Before the days of pub cameras all the pubs where i come from had a couple of dogs left in the bar areas at night, get a jack russel and a german shepherd togethe… problem solved.
Quite right me too.
Pub was theirs at night!
Trouble is the far left snowflake generation will disagree, if one of these uneducated, entitled to everything thugs, get injured, the property owner would be in court and receive a much harder punishment..
The thugs will be offered counciling, because there parents are on drugs and booze, along with an addiction to junk food…
Sadly everything you said there is completely and totally true! What is to be done about it, that’s what I’d like to know?
How about renaming our once safe island Isle of Crime !!
I don’t think the chav uniform will ever go out of fashion, however, I expect it was part of an inside job..
Don’t think there are many chavs in this area ,,, must be outsiders surely
90% of transactions are contact less what a pair of idiots all that robbery lark is old hat go and watch sweeney knobs
Why did the alarm not go off?
The alarm probably did go off, but as nearly everyone in that part of the world is on their precious hollibobs from London they did not raise the hue and cry because, on hearing an alarm, after checking their fancy car was all right, they went to sleep happy in the knowledge that their staycation venue full of mugs is becoming just like home. Their first, or second home
And why would you leave money in a safe overnight. Not much of a safe it seems.
It’s safe but they walked off with it lol really the comments are unbelievable, one said durr, prob the person that walked off with the empty cash box lol
Surely somebody can recognise these people, especially the bar staff as the thieves would have cased the place before the robbery. To me one is a male with glasses and the other looked very much like a female.
jails in the UK too full of the third worlds finest for judges to give meaningful sentences to our own growing numbers of filth now.
Blame to politicians who allow anything to float here now.
Its a Tuesday, the pubs shut and locked up by 11.45pm. Bet the safe was overflowing.
Funny how the CCTV shows the time as 22.46
