A man who was arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of committing 2 burglaries, 1 in February and 1 in July, as well as multiple drug offences, has now been charged.
Clive Stewart Richardson, 48, of East Hill Road in Ryde, has been charged with 1 count of possession of a Class A drug, 1 count of possession of a Class B drug, assault on an emergency worker and 2 counts of burglary.
On 5th February this year, Richardson entered a property on Queens Road in Ryde and stole £50 from within.
On Monday (4th July), the 48-year-old entered a flat on Appley Rise, also in Ryde, but left when challenged by the occupant.
Richardson has been remanded in custody to appear at Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court today (Friday).
UPDATE – Richardson pleaded not guilty to all charges. The case has been sent to the Crown Court for trial, with a preparation hearing set for 22nd August.
