Another murder here on this jewel of an island. Let’s see if it’s mentioned on that programme about how lovely it is here aye ;(
What is happening on this once crime free island.
Its never been crime free. Just Island Echo weren’t around to report on it.
I don’t remember seeing any murder posts in the CP paper before phones and internet came about. It is only in the last decade or so that crime is getting worse.
jeez…per head of population the island must be the murder capital of the UK, with the recent spate of killings
Murder rate per million in UK is 11.7, so rate on the island is definitely very high!
That means 1.17 murders for every 100,000 people in the uk
The island has had 3 in recent times that I can think of – that means 3 for 144,000 population, which is 2.08 per 100,000 or 20.8 per one million
Wait until the summer heat arrives
Hope they checked the shower cubicle in case another in there!! “
What an insensitive and thoroughly disgusting thing to say!
Would you be talking so heartlessly if it had happened to one of YOUR family members??
Very insensitive, tasteless and needless comment. You should be ashamed of yourself and need to get some RESPECT!
Bonny,
Your comment is highly insensitive and inappropriate. A person’s life has been lost – it’s not a subject for jokes. Please, show some respect.
We live in a nation that is now lawless, and instead we have mainstream media reporting on politicians behaving like rival gangs in parliament…
I’m sick of the way our lives are being treated with contempt, this nation is broken and none of that lot in parliament what ever colour they are will sort this out…
God help us…
They increase our council tax every year, what for!, f**k all, that’s what for.
If you put a comment that they don’t agree with it’s deleted so what’s the point?!?
Get used to it, the thought police have been part of our daily lives for a long time.
And it’s only going to get worse…
Like I have commented so many times before, the place is becoming the Isle of shite
when you add in the prison population to the free roaming criminals – the island has more criminals living here overall, per head of population than anywhere else.
They said newport is the most dangerous little town on the rock. Then Ryde third Shanklin.
Out of all of these comments, not ONE person has bothered to express their compassion and empathy here about the poor lady who has so sadly lost her life.
Just used her demise has a chance to have a rant about the crime levels of the Island.
It is NOT the Island’s fault, but all of the ‘overners’ that have taken the poor place over.
So sorry
So every crime is committed by “overners” and none by Islanders?
Do stop talking out of your backside.
