That’s right, send offenders to the mainland to be sentenced. If they attend court here, all they get is a slap on the wrist and a suspended sentence and they’re back home by teatime!
No deterrent at all and it’s all a laugh to them at the tax payers expense.
All the courts in the country follow the Sentencing guidelines as laid out by the Sentencing Council.
Now i wonder what the hard luck story will be.
Give the defence a fair chance, they have to consider whether unhappy and deprived childhood, misuse of substances, mental health issues or just plain unhappy would run the best at the trial.
Wait for the bleeding heart parents of wrong un’s to defend the rubbish.
IMO either mental, so needs locking up, or evil, so needs locking up.
Both likely to be incurable so, lock it up for as long as you can find room in our non Brit filled jails now.
Most 59 year olds are beyond the limits of parental control.
As he is 59 years old it might be difficult for his parents to exercise proper control.
So he’s free until Sept?? Disgusting So is he not from the island?? Ban him if he’s not pathetic, what’s happening to our law system?
Yeah, it’s terrible! Free until September…… except that he was remanded into custody?!
