UPDATED: The main road to Havenstreet from Ryde has been closed as a result of a 2-car road traffic collision this afternoon (Friday).
Police and paramedics are on scene at Havenstreet Main Road close to the turning for Firestone Copse, where a Renault Clio and a Toyota Rav4 have collided.
1 person is being attended to by the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
Police have closed the road from the junction of Stroudwood Road to the junction with Firestone Copse Road.
UPDATE @ 15:03 – The driver of the Toyota and a second individual have been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital this afternoon. Their injuries are not thought to be serious.
Recovery of the vehicles has been arranged and the road is expected to re-open shortly.
