A 51-year-old Ryde man charged with the offence of theft by employee is to appear before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court in March.
As previously reported by Island Echo, officers attended addresses in Castle Street and Nelson Street in Ryde on the morning of 30th October and arrested a 50-year-old man and a 24-year-old man as part of an ongoing investigation.
The arrests related to allegations of theft valued at approximately £2,000 from an Isle of Wight business – understood to be stock from Heroes in Newport – which was reported to Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary on 12th October 2024.
Now, Police have confirmed that 51-year-old Robert Mead, of Castle Street in Ryde, has been charged with theft by employee and has been bailed to appear at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on 18th March.
The second man arrested – a 24-year-old from Ryde – has been released with no further action to be taken.
