A lorry has become stuck and is blocking a main road between Lake and Shanklin this afternoon (Tuesday).
The lorry – that has a trailer attached – has become stuck in some mud whilst trying to enter Lower Hyde holiday park on Landguard Road.
With the cab stuck in the mud the trailer is currently blocking the entirety of the road meaning no traffic can pass – including Southern Vectis buses.
It is believed the lorry was transporting a mobile home.
Police are at the scene with a member of the public attempting to tow the lorry with Land Rover Discovery.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
UPDATE @ 16:40 – The lorry has now been cleared and the road has reopened.
Try putting hessian bags under the wheels minus the sand it’s good for things like getting your vehicle unstuck it will give traction so you can drive

Parking on Pavements is an inconsiderate act.
Pavements are for pedestrians not for persons parking vehicles.
By parking on the pavement it is not only dangerous for people it is dangerous

Great Preston Road is a very busy Road.
I cannot believe DoubleYellow lines have not been placed down one complete side
of the Road, like Argyll Street.

Pavements are for pedestrians not Idiots
I was on the pavement on my mobilty scooter just after this happened drivers were driving on the pavement. A driver saw me coming down the hill and he decided to drive on it the pavement blocking my acess. I shouted at him to get off the pavement, he ignored me, so I had to repeat this a few times before he would move his car of the pavment.
Not only It is an offense to drive on a pavement but danegrous. A lot of children returning home from school use this pavement and that was my main concern.
However some woman pulled me and told me that I was being very rude for shouting at the driver, I was gob smacked. Never mind the elders, children and disabled who have the right of way on pavements, Not cars, Love.
No way you don’t have the right for the pavement get out the way beep beep
