UPDATED: A problem with the link span at Wightlink’s Portsmouth Gunwharf terminal is causing delays on the company’s Portsmouth-Fishbourne route this morning (Monday).
Passengers on board the 06:00 sailing from Fishbourne were meant to disembark on the Pompey side at 06:45, but 30 minutes later and they are still stuck on board the Victoria of Wight ferry.
It is said that the link span is ‘out of line’ and therefore no more vehicles can transfer onto dry land until engineers resolve the issue.
Delays are expected on this route throughout this morning, with the Captain of the 07:00 from Fishbourne advising of at least a 30 minute delay.
UPDATE @ 07:35 – Wightlink have announced that due to a technical issue with the Gunwharf Linkspan, customers may experience delays of up to 40 minutes.
A spokesperson has said:
”Our teams are working hard to repair the issue and we apologise for any changes to your travel plans”.
