The crew of Yarmouth RNLI were called to action stations during the early hours of this morning (Saturday) following reports that a vessel was struggling to safely enter Yarmouth Harbour.
With high winds and heavy rain, a 9m motorboat with 2 persons on board had reported to Solent Coastguard that they were having difficulties entering the safe haven of the harbour.
At around 01:15, Solent Coastguard requested that the crew of Yarmouth’s All Weather Lifeboat made themselves ready for immediate launch should the need arise.
A short while later, at 01:40, The Needles Coastguard Rescue Team were mobilised to the scene,
Thankfully, the motorboat eventually entered the Harbour under its own power.
Coastguard Rescue Officers ensured the 2 persons on board the boat were safe and well.
The incident was brought to a closure by 02:45.
