Wightlink customers are facing lengthy delays on the company’s Fishbourne-Portsmouth route this afternoon (Friday) due to a fault with the linkspan.
Delays of between 30 and 60 minutes are being reported as the vessel St Clare is currently unable to depart from Fishbourne.
St Faith, which is waiting to dock on the Island, is holding off just outside of the mouth of Wootton Creek as engineers work to resolve the issue.
Wightlink is asking passengers to continue to check in on time.
UPDATE @ 14:35 – The problem has now been resolved and ferries are once again able to arrive at and depart from Fishbourne.
Delays continue on the cross-Solent service this afternoon.
