WTF is going on. For driving without an MOT or driving without insurance there is no penalty. For not surrendering to bail where the police would have to divert already very stretched manpower to finding and re-arresting a criminal a piddlyarsed fine of £40 is handed out. The role of a magistrate is to punish criminals for their crimes and to a level which will deter these scum from reoffending. It’s clear to me they are failing on both counts.
better cancel that insurance then – no penalty for not having any.
