A resident at Hazel Lodge Care Home was recently reunited with an old friend when a rather unusual visitor arrived at the home – Dave the pony.
The visit came about after Sandra, a family member, approached the Hazel Lodge team and asked whether she could bring Dave the pony in to see her dad, who is also called Dave.
The team were only too happy to help make it happen.
The reunion proved a lovely moment for both Daves, while several other residents also came along to meet the four-legged visitor and give him some attention.
Dave the pony was treated to carrots and blackberries during his visit, with one resident deciding he deserved a biscuit too.
Ian Bennett, Managing Director at Island Healthcare, said:
“It’s not often you get to say that Dave has been reunited with Dave and one of them is a pony! It was a lovely thing for Sandra to arrange and clearly meant a lot.”
