There’s no consistency to these drink driving bans. The Welsh lad gets a 12 month ban for being barely over the limit whilst the 65yr old pensioner, who should of known better at his age, only gets a 22 months ban for being almost six times over the limit.
They should all know better. Maybe this country should have a zero alcohol level to drive will take all doubt away.
a 10 year ban and fines STARTING at £1,000 would help as a deterrent…., other countries have this…
Any previous relevant convictions may also be taken into account ahead of sentencing. The 65 year old has most likely drunk driven before, however this may have been the first time he’s been caught.
Also, a 65 year old solicitor can and will pay any fine imposed on him. No point asking a 25 year old living off universal credit to pay hundreds.
Twice the ban and over twice the fine…. learn to read…
12 + 12 = ? (Do you want to borrow my calculator?) ….learn to count
