This is your weekly round-up of some of the latest court cases heard at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court.

Monday 21st June – Friday 25th June 2021
• Andrew Mark Barnes, 46, of Sandcove Rise in Seaview was fined £40 after admitting possession of a Class A drug – diamorphine. He was ordered to pay costs of £85 and a £34 surcharge.
• Wayne Clift, 60, of Salem Road in Shanklin admitted being in charge of a motor vehicle (142) whilst drunk and criminal damage. He was disqualified from driving for 12 months and made subject to a community order for 18 months with 260 hours of unpaid work attached. He was also ordered to pay £85 costs with a £95 surcharge.
• Christopher Derek Allen, 49, of Highfield Lane in Portswood, Southampton was fined £120 after pleading guilty to causing harassment, alarm or distress. Separately, Allen was made subject to a community order with an alcohol treatment requirement and 30 rehabilitation days for using threatening, abusive words or behaviour to provoke fear of violence and causing criminal damage. He was ordered to pay £150 compensation.
There was no separate penalty for being drunk and disorderly in a public place.
• Samuel Chisholm Bohn, 28, of Mill Lane in Newport was fined £80 for threatening to cause damage to Harbour House in Ryde. He was ordered to pay £85 costs with a surcharge of £34.
• Luke Jake Rose, 31, of Lea Road in Lake pleaded guilty to drink driving. He was disqualified from driving for 36 months and fined £220, as well as being ordered to pay £85 costs with a £34 surcharge.
• Michael Leigh Phillips, 38, of Adelaide Grove in East Cowes admitted possession of a Class A drug (cocaine) and was fined £120. He was also ordered to pay £85 costs. He received 6 points on his licence for driving without a licence and driving without insurance. He was fined a further £120.
• McCauley Silverthorne, 23, of Carisbrooke Road, Newport was made subject to a community order for 12 months with 220 hours of unpaid work attached for possession of a lock knife, to which he pleaded guilty. He was ordered to pay £85 costs with a £95 surcharge. He also admitted commission of a further offence whilst subject to a conditional discharge.
• Gino Randall, 32, of Chandler Close in Newport, pleaded guilty to theft from a shop. He was ordered to pay £10.69 compensation to Pan Stores, as well as costs of £40.
• Edward Mathias Lale, 28, of New Street in Newport, was fined £20 for possession of a Class B drug – cannabis. He was ordered to pay £85 costs with a £34 surcharge.
• James Smith, 37, of Station Avenue in Sandown pleaded guilty to theft from a shop. He was made subject to a community order for 12 months with a drug rehabilitation requirement for 6 months. He was ordered to pay compensation of £44.20 alongside costs of £85 with a £95 surcharge.
• Connie Rose Hughes, 28, of Sandown, admitted drink driving (73). She was banned from driving for 17 months, fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs with a £34 surcharge.
• Joshua Andrew Nicholas Barnes, 21, of Church View Close in Cowes, pleaded guilty to drug driving (cocaine). He was disuqalified from driving for 12 months, fined £166 and ordered to pay costs of £85 with a £34 surcharge. No separate penalty was given for possession of a Class B drug.
