No wonder crime is so rife. Rarely a jail term, and the fines are so tiny (have they never heard of inflation) that the sums fined would not pay for the lighting let alone the wages and expenses to clean the court room.
The message sent out, is do as you please, and IF, and a big IF you are caught, no fear, as a tiny fine means the risks are more than worth it, every time.
No wonder the Island is getting filled with trash now, a soft easy place if you don’t care about others, the law or have old fashioned shame, which few have now.
Crime pays
In Spain the government seize all that you own once you are convicted. Your property is then auctioned off to pay for your own incarceration. Maybe the British government could adopt that approach and see how much of a deterrent that is. Agreed, we are far too lenient and it’s not even a slap on the wrist anymore, the fines and so called punishment are laughable.
How can they have three different cases of drug driving ( cannabis) but with three different fines and outcomes
If yo hold down a job, pay tax and turn up to court expect a large fine, if you’re on benefits and don’t work and have a sob story expect leniency.
Basically turn up to court in a track suit, say your parents never loved you and you been diagnosed with some ‘isum’ works every time.
It is what it is!
I would imagine it depends on what benefits/wages a person has each week/month available and if its the first offence or not. Its definitely wrong as should be a fixed fine/ban for everyone.
Louise, I was wondering the same too.
Karen Nolan, 38, of Clarence Road in East Cowes,Been there, done that!
Was she as fast?
Dude you should not admit to that 😀
It was like Kebab
12 month driving ban for a person without a driving license. Awesome work.
The System is totally corrupt you only have to look around you in this world right now to witness the biggest scam ever by unelected billionaires !
We the people should be electing the next PM !!!!
Also drug offences are easy pickings and sitting catching people for speeding ….focus on these sick pedophilic monsters they get minimal sentencing compared to this !
And no I don’t agree with drug or drink driving before anyone responds – just comparing lenient punishments.
People need to wake up and look at the bigger picture here in our society as a whole – demonic times – UK citizens are Snowflakes for letting it happen.
What the hell is wrong with this island! Its absolutely terrible! There is a massive drug problem now!
Only one comment….. what pathetic moronic sentences
Drugs is a massive problem on this island now
Its just the norm on this island now
Yep just normal island people
