What a list we have this week.
It is obvious from what we see week in week
out, drink and drug driving is rife.
I would like to see more traffic police
employed on the Island.
To pay for the extra police required
Islandwide permit parking could be rolled out
to pay the salaries.
….to fine them, jail them, let them out, rinse and repeat….Yes, it is obvious. As a deterrent it’s clearly not effective, so not sure how more police would help.
Aren’t you the least bit curious as to why, or as to how to reduce it in the first place? By your observations and recommendations, pretty soon there’ll be more police than offenders
Stronger deterrents. I would re-open Camp Hill
for such offenders.
And crush ANY car they have used and will use as no one seems to abide by the disqualification they recieve.
For once, Enough is Enough is right. It’s gone past the point of trying to understand why people do bad things. They do, and increasingly so. Just look at the statistics. Wringing hands won’t help.
Would someone explain how a person is found guilty of racial abuse and assault ,amongst other things, and she gets a ‘one last chance’ whilst writing a nasty comment gets you up to 3 years in prison? Anyone for 2 tier??
Because, as you well know but insist on disregarding, the nasty commentor was prolific and inciteful in her missives. She was also a professional (supposedly) in charge of children of all creeds, colours and persuasions. The other was one specific event against one specific person. If they do it again, however….
For example….watch what happens to Stephen Waxy-Lemmon when they next catch up with him. He’s been had up for both things, numerous times.
There are no tiers in Criminal Justice, only sentencing guidelines, the range of tariffs depend on the offenders history coupled with any mitigating circumstances.
What a coad of lobblers.. As YOU well know, one person was imprisoned for holding a sign that called the honesty of our government into question, he was such a hardened criminal that he committed suicide in his cell, just as others have posted a single post in anger, removed it within a couple of hours, and been imprisoned for 2 years. You can see (if you open your eyes to alternative truths) people being removed from the street for being Jewish and standing near one of the wonderful Hamas supporters marches, persons being removed from the streets for having a union flag whilst those supporting a proscribed terrorist group are allowed to wave with impunity. What is next is if anyone has an opinion of one religion, and they discuss it with another person and it is overheard, they will be arrested! You might relish the 1984 country you live in, some of us don’t. As for Mr Robinson, perhaps you might look to the facts, rather than your myopic opinion, and allow the truth to come out?
