Cowes Classics Day, held on The Parade in Cowes this Sunday (9th July) is a unique celebration of classic transport, open to all and free of charge.
Attractions include 50 classic cars and buses, historic motorboats and yachts.
Weather permitting, there will also be a flypast by a WW2 bi-plane and a visit by the famous charity fund-raiser Major Mick in his rowing dinghy “Tintanic”.
Visitors to Cowes Classics Day will also find a host of independent shops in Cowes selling a wide variety of unique and largely Island products from jewellery, art and gifts, to marine artifacts and local produce. The Royal London Yacht Club, organisers of Cowes Classics Day, is promoting ten of these shops to hundreds of participants in Cowes Classics Week, starting the same day, through the new Cowes Town Pass.
Conceived to encourage trade in the High Street area, participants are offered tempting discounts.
For visitors from the mainland, Red Funnel Ferries are offering a Cowes Classics Day special return on their Red Jet high-speed service. More information and booking a www.redfunnel.co.uk/en/isle-of-wight-guide/events/cowes-classics-afternoon-tea/
