The search for a missing male is underway in the rural village of Newbridge near Calbourne this afternoon (Monday).
Police descended on the area surrounding The Orchards Holiday Park at around midday, with the assistance of WightSAR requested just before 13:00.
Search teams are on the ground conducting enquiries in a bid to locate a male who is described as being 6ft 3in tall with blonde hair and possibly presenting with a hand injury.
Volunteers from WightSAR have rendezvoused at The Orchards, with search teams moving out from there.
It’s understood the National Police Air Service helicopter has been requested.
Hampshire Constabulary are yet to issue an appeal for information.
UPDATE – It is understood the male has been located safe and well.
Search teams have now stood down.
