Police on the Isle of Wight have arrested 2 people on suspicion of drugs offences after officers found and seized a large quantity of cannabis in the Arreton area yesterday (Thursday).
The drugs haul was found yesterday afternoon and led Police to 2 addresses in Newport.
A 47-year-old man from Newport has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the production of a Class B drug.
In addition, a 45-year-old woman from Newport has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class B drug with intent to supply, and being concerned in the supply of a Class B drug.
Both remain in custody while enquiries continue.

Absolutely fantastic to read that the drugs I’ve been taken off our street and the island police are actually doing something to combat this problem of drug paraphernalia on the island sadly when a drug haul is seized It can lead to supply and demand issues which could result in further criminality so the best thing to do would be to offer programs to get these people off cannabis and look at alternative solutions like CBD oils, you can buy CBD oils and these contain no THC
Yeah, get them off the weed and on to the alcohol. That’s far less damaging than having a smoke…… it must be, its legal.
They’ll get up to far less mischief on the booze than chilling somewhere.
