Wightlink have been forced to cancel their 07:30 car ferry sailing from Fishbourne this morning (Friday).
The cross-Solent operator has confirmed that due to the ‘loss’ of an essential member of the crew, the 07:30 will not be operating.
However, a text issued to customers states rather conflicting information. It says:
“Due to the earlier mechanical issue with an engine on one of our ships, some customers may experience delays of up to 30 mins.
“Our teams are working hard to get back to our scheduled timetable and we’ll continue to keep you updated with progress”.
Customers are advised to still check in on time.
All other services are currently scheduled to depart as per timetable.
A spokesperson for Wightlink has said:
“We apologise for any changes to your travel plans”.
