JONATHAN STASIUK DENIES MURDERING FORMER ISLE OF WIGHT COUNCILLOR


Former councillor Gerry White, who was found dead in woodland in Lake

60-year-old Jonathan Stasiuk from Sandown has denied murdering former Isle of Wight councillor Gerry White and will now stand trial in November.

Stasiuk, who is accused of murdering Mr White in a community garden in Lake on 27th May this year, appeared at Southampton Crown Court earlier today (Thursday) where he denied the charge against him.

Gerry White’s body was discovered in amongst woodland off a public footpath on the Bank Holiday Monday, resulting in a large scale investigation being launched by Hampshire Constabulary. This investigation resulted in Jonathan Stasiuk, a chef, being charged.

Stasiuk has been remanded in custody and will stand trial accused of the murder of Mr White on 4th November 2019.
