Those hoping to dance the night away at Jack up the Summer tonight (Saturday) will be disappointed to learn that the event has been cancelled for today over health and safety fears.
Strong winds on site in Newport earlier on in the day resulted in the postponement of the gates opening to the public. It was originally planned for the gates to open at 11:00 but event organisers decided to push that back to 14:00 and then 16:00.
With the adverse weather conditions still causing issues on site, it has now been announced that the tough decision has been made to call off today’s element of the weekend-long event.
Tickets valid for Saturday only will now be valid for Sunday too. There has been no mention of refunds or partial refunds for weekend ticket holders.
In a statement, organisers have said:
“Our latest & final update got today is regrettably no matter hard we’ve tried the site is just too dangerous. So we’ve closed the site for today but will open tomorrow as planned when the sun is going to shine”.
“If you just had Saturday tickets they will be valid for tomorrow as we are absolutely determined to Jack up the Summer… Thank you so much for your patience & understanding”.
Think there should be partial refunfs for weekend ticket as groups they wanted to see on saturday wont be seen

Surely the organisers knew this bad weather was coming other festivals were cancelled in the week what about poor people who paid for the rip off boat companies seems bit of a joke to me
