Isle of Wight firm Guardian Mobile is transforming personal safety with its complete mobile package, perfect for the elderly, vulnerable and those working alone.
The company, based at Branstone, provides specialist mobile phones with built-in emergency support, offering a simple handset, mobile connection and 24/7 assistance in one complete package, making personal safety accessible for everyone.
At the press of a button, users are instantly connected to Guardian Response, a dedicated UK-based emergency support service, reinforcing the company’s commitment to providing safety, security and peace of mind.
Many existing telecare services, such as Wightcare, rely on traditional landlines or home-based alarm systems, meaning support is only available when the user is at home. With the nationwide rollout of full fibre broadband by BT, many landline-based systems will need upgrading or replacing. Guardian Mobile removes this dependency by providing a fully mobile solution that works anywhere, giving users complete freedom and independence.
This is all the more important as the Isle of Wight has a notably older population compared to the national average. According to an Isle of Wight Council report, people aged 70+ make up some 21.4% of the population, compared to 13.6% nationally.
Sandra Knowles, Head of Corporate Communications at Guardian Mobile, has said:
“We’re giving people the confidence to live independently, knowing help is always available.
“By combining the phone, connection, and emergency response into one seamless package, we’re making safety simple and accessible for everyone.”
A Complete Safety Solution in One Package
Unlike standard mobile phones, Guardian Mobile offers a fully integrated service, including:
- A straightforward, easy-to-use handset – No complex apps or settings.
- A built-in SIM with a mobile connection – No need for separate contracts.
- 24/7 Guardian Response emergency support – Instant assistance, anywhere.
What Makes Guardian Mobile Different?
Unlike competitors, Guardian Mobile does not require an installation process or additional home equipment. The Guardian solution is built into a simple to use mobile phone with a dedicated SIM card, ensuring immediate access to emergency assistance at the press of a button. Whether at home or out and about, help is always available – without being tied to a landline or a specific location.
Stay Safe, Stay Connected
With Guardian Mobile, there’s no need for separate telecare devices or panic buttons – just one phone, one package, and complete peace of mind.

Sounds like a great idea.
Sounds good but my Doro mobile phone has an emergency button which I can press to contact specific people for help.
so, in this Guardian system, who is doing the rescuing? Does someone turn up to pick you up and all the other things that people like Wightcare do? Is it like a green flag assistance system if you are out and about in the car?
