Cyclist Kev Chant has taken gold for the Isle of Wight in the men’s individual time trial event at the Guernsey Island Games.
The Isle of Wight team of Kev Chant, Nicholas Hutchings, George Spooner, Joe Stauton and Elvis Belton also took the time trial team gold medal.
Kev Chant powered home in a time of 36:34, 1 minute and 6 seconds ahead of Guernsey cyclist Sam Culverwell in the silver medal spot.
The Isle of Wight’s Nicholas Hutchings came 5th with a time of 38:09, just missing out on a podium place in the individual event.
3 other Isle of Wight cyclists competed in the event: George Spooner came 17th in a time of 40:03; Joe Staunton was 18th in 40:13; Elvis Belton was 37th in 42:24.
The Isle of Wight is now in 2nd place in the medals table with 5 gold medals to date.
