Over the weekend the identity of the deceased male was revealed as Piyachai Chainiyom (also known as ‘PC’), the proprietor of Ryde Thai in Union Street, Ryde. The announcement was made by the family via Facebook.

Island food reviewers Matt & Cat have led tributes to the popular 36-year-old chef and said via their Facebook page:

“We, and so many people we introduced to Pc, loved the food he produced but more than that, loved the gentle charm and character of this remarkable and dedicated businessman who found success whilst making so many people his friends”.

The inquest has been adjourned to a date yet to be fixed.
