A woman who became injured after falling through an engine room hatch aboard a boat on the River Medina was conveyed to an awaiting ambulance by Cowes RNLI lifeboat this afternoon (Monday).
The female sustained bruising and swelling after falling down the engine hatch of a 36ft motor cruiser moored to an off-shore pontoon at The Folly.
Someone else aboard the vessel contacted Solent Coastguard for assistance.
After the lifeboat crew assessed the casualty on scene, she was conveyed by her rescuers to Trinity Landing, Cowes, where an ambulance was waiting to take her to St Mary’s Hospital.
The lifeboat, which launched at 15:54, was back on station by 17:00.
