The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service and HM Coastguard were called out to Thorness Bay yesterday evening (Tuesday) following reports that a woman had injured herself on the beach.
The Needles Coastguard Rescue Team were tasked at 18:26 to locate and assist the casualty as required.
Upon arrival of Coastguard Rescue Officers, it was discovered that members of the public had already been able to assist the injured woman.
The casualty was handed straight to a local ambulance crew for onward conveyance to St Mary’s Hospital.
Needles CRT were back on station by 20:10.
