UPDATED: Icy conditions following the coldest night of the year to date has resulted in the suspension of Island Line train services this morning (Thursday).
Services between Ryde Pier Head and Shanklin are not expected to get underway until at least 08:00 this morning, when it is hoped things will thaw out somewhat.
Ice on the third rail – the conductor rail – is preventing trains from running.
