Coastguard Rescue Teams were tasked to respond to a report of a man who had gone missing in the sea off Sandown this evening (Saturday).
HM Coastguard reveieved an emergency 999 call from a lady who was visiting the beach at approximately 18:56 after her husband – who had been in the water – had gone missing from her view.
The very distressed woman was soon comforted when Ventnor and Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Teams arrived on scene alongside Sandown and Shanklin Independent Lifeboat.
A short search conducted by the lifeboat crew located the man who had happily floated away from where he entered the water. He was swiftly returned to his wife and crews stood down shortly after.
‘Happily floated away from his wife’.
Tells it’s own story.
Bless her she must have been so scared. So pleased he was found safe
Oh brilliant ! – nice to read a happy ending for a change
