UPDATED: Hovertravel have yet again been forced to suspend their cross-Solent service between Ryde and Southsea due to a technical issue.
The troubled Island Flyer craft has been taken out of service this afternoon (Thursday) due to what the company are calling technical reasons.
No further information has been made available about what has caused this latest suspension of service, which came into force at 13:15.
An update will be provided at 15:00 but it remains unclear at this time if the service will resume at that point.
It was only yesterday (Wednesday) that Hovertravel’s operation was brought to a halt for almost 5 hours due to technical issues. Last Friday the service was out for 9 hours, followed by another 1 hour of disruption on Saturday morning – that totals almost 15 hours in the past week.
UPDATE @ 14:58 – Hovertravel services remain suspended.
The next update will be provided at 15:30.
UPDATE @ 15:34 – Hovertravel have announced that services will resume at 15:45 from Ryde and 16:00 from Southsea.
