UPDATED: Hovertravel have been forced to suspended their Ryde to Southsea service this morning (Sunday) due to a technical issue.
It is understood that a fault has developed with Island Flyer’s door, which earlier on this morning saw passengers embark the craft before being told to disembark and return to the terminal.
Solent Flyer, which recently returned from having months of redevelopment work in Southampton, currently appears to be out of service. It is meant to act as a backup craft for situations such as this.
An update is expected from the travel operator at around 09:30.
UPDATE @ 09:15 – Hovertravel’s Sunday morning operation has now resumed with Island Flyer. Passengers report that 1 loading door is being used.
The cross-Solent service is operating with delays of 15 minutes.
