A power outage in the Northern part of Newport is affecting over 800 customers this afternoon (Monday).
The outage was 1st reported some 30 minutes ago at around 14:00.
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) estimate around 67 postcodes have been affected causing a total of 835 customers to be without power.
Among those affected by the outage are businesses on St Cross Business Park and HMP Isle of Wight.
Island Echo understands that traffic lights on St Mary’s junction are currently out.
An engineer is currently on site and it is hoped that supply can be restored by 19:30.
