A power cut is affecting homes and businesses in Sandown this afternoon (Tuesday).
A total of 18 postcodes in the PO36 8 area have lost supply as a result of a network fault.
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks say that engineers are on site working hard to get the power back on as quickly as they can. Island Echo understands that engineers are working in George Street, which was closed yesterday to facilitate works.
Electricity is expected to be restored to affected properties by 16:00.

PO36 8DE, PO36 8EP, PO36 8ER, PO36 8ES, PO36 8EW, PO36 8EX, PO36 8HA, PO36 8HB, PO36 8HD, PO36 8HE, PO36 8HL, PO36 8HP, PO36 8HR, PO36 8HZ, PO36 8JB, PO36 8JE, PO36 8JF, PO36 9FB.
UPDATE @ 16:20 – Power appears to have been restored to affected properties.
