The Isle of Wight Cheese Company have expressed their upset and confusion over the theft of a historic water pump that has been present on a farm in Alverstone for over 100 years.
The beautifully crafted cast iron pump is said to have been cut from the wall with an angle grinder by the thief or thieves.
Staff at Queen Bower Dairy on Alverstone Road made the shocking discovery this morning. It is believed the theft took place sometime over the weekend.
The above photo shows the pump in-situ and the scene that now remains.
