Hillbans Pest Control has launched an innovative humane pest control system with the help of matched grant funding from the Isle of Wight Rural Business Resilience Fund, and technical and design services from Adapt UK.
The company are now using ‘Good Nature’ rodent traps, a new product that is poison-free, humane and non-toxic. This eliminates the possibility of secondary poisoning which allows an environment that is not only pest-free but in which native species can survive, thrive and flourish.
Sandra Knowles, Managing Director of Hillbans pest control, says:
“The current crisis has brought enormous change to people’s lives, including a shift by many to rethinking how we live and particularly the use of products that may harm our planet and our environment. This is not a new way of thinking by any means, however more and more of our customers are requesting a treatment programme which aligns itself with this ethos of being as harmless as possible to the land and to nature”.
The Adapt UK Programme was setup by Brightbulb Design and Chris Court Associates to help businesses gain grant funding for products and services that help Island businesses.
A spokesperson for Adapt UK adds:
“This is exactly the type of product we can get behind. A first for the Isle of Wight and one that will be a great help in rural areas and specifically in the agricultural sector”.
