Adverse weather has forced disruption on Red Jet and Hovertravel services this afternoon (Friday).
Hovertravel has temporarily suspended its cross-Solent service between Ryde and Southsea due to the high winds whilst Red Jet has cancelled the 15:35, 16:45 and 17:55 from Southampton and the 16:10, 17:20 and 18:30 from East Cowes.
Both the travel operators are advising of the likelihood of more disruption later this evening.
Hovertravel is to issue an update at 17:00 as to whether services can resume. Tickets are being accepted on Wightlink’s FastCat in the meantime.
Both cross-Solent providers have apologised for the inconvenience caused.
Oh no, not wind. Our only means of escape has been scuppered by air in motion, though I can’t afford to escape as Sleazy Bob Sealey gets his golden handshakes from the ferry companies. Keep those prices high Bob.
Hopefully the wind is a precursor to the return of Jesus, and symbolic of the wretched wrath of the imminent period of tribulation.
