3 cars – 2 of which were parked – have been heavily damaged in a smash in the heart of Shanklin tonight (Monday).
A red Seat has collided into the rear of a parked Citroen C3 on Landguard Road, with the French motor shunted forwards into the rear of a Mini Clubman.
All 3 vehicles have sustained significant damage in the crash, which occurred just before 22:00.
The airbags in the Seat have activated, indicating the speed and force of the impact.
Recovery of the vehicles is underway.
Landguard Road is temporarily blocked from Falcon Cross Road but is expected to reopen shortly.
I am surprised such an accident as not
taken place along Regent Street with vehicles
parked on both sides of the street
Lol
It’s a straight road for goodness’ sake
Nothing is straight on the island.
A few weeks ago I was driving up this road in
daytime and a utility vehicle was driving towards me
from the opposite direction
(The worrying thing is I am not joking)
Vehicles do what ever they want, we need more traffic
police on the island.
