Inver House Care Home in Bembridge has officially opened its first Memory Group, with the ribbon cut by Hartford Care ambassador, Lady Sally Grylls, a local Bembridge resident and advocate of the care sector on the Isle of Wight.
The Memory Group takes place on the first Tuesday of every month from 10:45 to 11:45, with the next session being held on Tuesday 4th August.
The sessions provide a friendly and safe space for people to take a trip down memory lane and connect with others in the local community. There’s also hot drinks and cake to enjoy.
Upon officially opening the Memory Group, Lady Sally Grylls, commented:
“I am thrilled to be invited to cut the ribbon on the Inver House Memory Group. We are blessed to live in Bembridge, it’s such a loving, caring and supportive community and the opening of the Memory Group will be a great addition to meet with each other and enjoy happy times together.”
Also in attendance was Lady Grylls’ friend, Marianne Rumens, the author of the book ‘No More Apples for Tom’, which tells the story of her husband’s journey with dementia. Both Lady Grylls and Marianne hope to attend further sessions of the Memory Group.
Inver’s 50-bedroom home has benefitted from significant investment over the last few years and offers residential care, end of life care, respite care and day care, along with dementia care in a dedicated 32-bedroom suite, Treetops, within the sympathetically converted Edwardian building.
