Police are continuing their investigations after a 15-year-old boy was robbed and assaulted in the village of Bembridge yesterday afternoon (Saturday).
Officers were called at 15:38 to Foreland Road, at the junction of Steyne Road and Lane End Road, when it was reported that a 15-year-old boy had been robbed by a group of youths.
It was also reported that the teenager was assaulted by another boy during the incident.
According to Police, the boy’s bag was taken during the robbery.
It has been confirmed that 2x 16-year-old girls and 2x 16-year-old boys were initially detained by officers in connection with this incident, but were de-arrested.
Hampshire Constabulary says the youths will be invited for a voluntary interview in due course as enquiries continue.
Unfortunately there is no discipline these day’s, parents don’t know or some don’t care where their kids are !!!!!
These oiks really do need to know that there are boundaries and consequences, one day they maybe in a position where their children are in the same position they have caused ( heaven help us they have kid’s )…
A good slap may help them realise that!!!!!
To p c these day’s ….
Now alas we are reaping what has been sown !!!!!
Quite. Discipline is very unfashionable these days, so the results can be seen.
Back in my day they had corporal punishment in schools and homes, where it was necessary, but it’s not allowed these days. All the Borstal’s have been closed down for young offenders, so they are back in our communities straight away.
Police do not respond to crimes reported and so young criminals get away with it and are laughing..(at us).
When schools fail are act on bullying these bullies continue their behaviour out of school and for the rest of their lives. Schools need to deal with these children before they grow up and cause so much disruption to the local community.
Their hands are totally tied. Bring back the cane etc.
Bruv if you knew what happened u will say different so just sh and allow urself
Hanging is too good for these types!
Is this all you’ve got?
Why can’t our police do there job and police???
Volunteer interview??….no comment, no comment, no comment….
Why are the comments so ill-informed and simplistic in here? It’s a complex, societal problem, how can school be blamed when they weren’t even in school when it happened?
It’s not ‘complex’ at all. Basically comes down to the way kids are bought up these days. Many, not all have not been taught to be respectful, parents don’t care what their kids are up to just aslong as they are out from under their feet. Stricter rules, discipline and respect must be taught from an early age or society just has out of control, ferral brats roaming the streets getting up to God knows what.
you are quite right as i said before we are living in the selfish generation.i want, icant afford,so i will take it.
Because in the old days, school discipline was everything and kids grew up knowing there were consequences to their actions. Now, kids rule the classroom and the teachers can do nothing about it….
Maybe it’s because the teachers seem to teach Wokism rather than respect for others.
Please define “wokism”.
Every time I ask, ai seem to get different answers..
Because the usual suspects in here are ill informed and simple.
I could be wrong but we were there (when there was a police van and at least five police cars) and I don’t think that these kids were local. By the way, giving kids a good slap only teaches them to ….slap! Bringing kids up with love and patience teaches them to be loving and patient.
D. Ash, you are wrong, no doubt about it, insomuch as your comment that a slap only teaches them to slap.
YOU and your thinking are exactly WHY we are in the mess we are now in.
I expect if you own a dog, it also is a pain in the bottom to everyone whenever you walk it too, yet your response will be ‘He/She only wants to say hello’ as some leaping manic creature jumps all over some passer-by.
As thousands of new homes fill Ryde and the surroundings, the ‘type’ being very non local will travel to once considered safe, peaceful places like Bembridge and Seaview and ruin pubs, bars, beaches and parks with their chavy ways.
if you knew what he did you’d understand
He didn’t even touch u bruv
One thing I notice on iow having lived in London most of my life is that some kids here try and emulate say South London kids, talking with a ridiculous nasal twang and calling everyone bruv, it ain’t cute, and you ain’t hard, and the girls that follow them ain’t cute either, they should all grow up, most of them wouldn’t last 5 minutes in real South London, it’s all a pose, find another role model, not necessarily the other side of the coin, the narrow minded old fogies that rage at everyone who isn’t like them, but just have some respect, for yourself mainly
