Island Roads are once again deploying their gritters across the Isle of Wight’s road network.
All of the pre-defined routes and bridge decks at Stag Lane and Foxes Road, Newport are being gritted from 15:00 this afternoon.
A second run is due to commence at 04:00 tomorrow morning.
Motorists are being urged to drive carefully and according to the road conditions.
This morning a number of crashes occurred at Brading, Ryde, Merstone, Godshill and Gatcombe.
IW Met Service issued a yellow weather warning for ice yesterday, but no such warning is in place for today or overnight into Thursday.
