The popular Going Electric show is set to return to Newport Quay on Sunday 31st August, offering a full day of exhibitions, expert talks and sustainability showcases from 10:00 to 16:00.
Now in its 4th year, the event brings together local businesses and national voices in the energy efficiency and low-carbon space. Visitors can explore exhibits from the Isle of Wight’s car dealerships, solar panel installers, heat pump specialists and other eco-focused companies.
As well as hands-on displays, this year’s show will feature 3 dedicated speaker sessions hosted at the Riverside Centre between 11:00 and 15:00, with breaks in between:
-
The ‘EV Insight’ session will include insights from Louis Vannasche, General Manager at Leslies Motors, Motability expert Dan Hillier-Mears from Premier Motors, and Anthony Molley, who leads fleet electrification for Coop supermarkets across the UK.
-
‘Future Homes’ will focus on housing and energy with presentations from Laura Stichbury of the Footprint Trust, eco-architect Alistair Barr, and energy and retrofit advisor Stephen Cockett.
-
The final session, ‘The Big Picture’, will feature Fran Collins, CEO of Red Funnel, climate change educator Dr Andrew Lee, and Tristan Harris from community group Together for Mission Zero.
Organisers say the talks will explore both current innovations and long-term strategies for sustainability and climate resilience.
The show is free to attend and offers free parking at the Riverside, County Hall and Seaclose car parks.
