The Environment Agency has issued a further 2 flood warnings overnight, with the chance of flooding in Yarmouth and Gurnard today (Sunday).
The first warning is in place around the coastal areas of Yarmouth specifically around this mornings high tide which is due at around 10:20
With the tide level forecast it is expected that flooding will affect the ferry terminal car park and ticket office for around 1 hour each side of high water.
The second warning is for Gurnard on the Gurnard Luck.
Flooding is expected to hit areas from Gurnard Pines to Marsh Road at Gurnard.
The Environment Agency issued several flood warnings yesterday (Saturday) including for Monktonmead in Ryde and Lukely Brook in Newport & Carisbrooke.
That photo says it all really, so when they built that section did no one think to add a drain that would take any flood water off into the sea, stupidity or what.
Don’t think drains would help, it IS the sea.

Look at the picture again… see how high the ferry is compared to the buildings around it. Do you think that with low atmospheric pressure and high tide the water might just possibly be salty?

That flood water is seawater from the exceptional high tides and comes up the very drains you advocate.
I was there waiting in my car the sea levels were in line as such it overflowing to the car park behind our car and in front that level of water were lower in the picture then what we experienced so next time think before you comment on anything in future.
At least they dont have to blame staff shortages in the current conditions.
That flood water is also called very high tide and torrential rain. It will do that there regardless of any drains – there are surface drains there anyway!
It’s all a lie, that picture is fake. My mate down the pub said the sea levels are not rising and there is no climate change causing stronger storms and more of them. And he knows more than the entire scientific community, he’s on face book don’t you know. Got to big brain to be on that.
Your mate down the pub probably needs to put his glasses on – or be in the pub either side of high tide then
