Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary are releasing a further appeal for witnesses to an assault that occurred in Ventnor earlier this month and are particularly keen to identify 2 men who may have assisted the victim. As previously reported by Island Echo, Police were called on the afternoon of Sunday 12th November after a man in his 50s was located in Pound Lane with a serious leg injury. It’s suspected that the man was assaulted at around 13:30. A pair of men, aged 25 and 30, have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent as part of our enquiries. They have been bailed with conditions until 13th February. Police have been told that 2 men reportedly administered first aid to the victim to assist with his injury. These men then entered The Bistro on Pier Street at around 14:00. A spokesperson from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has said:
