Residents in Pan and the surrounding area are being invited to take part in a new series of free Winter Wellbeing Walks aimed at keeping people active, connected and positive throughout the colder months.
Led by local Healthy Habits Coach Rachel Richards of WightWays and funded by Pan Together, the walks will take place every Tuesday morning at 10:00, starting from 4th November 2025. Each session will begin at Downside Community Centre and finish at the Isobel Community Café on Furrlongs, Newport.
The 45–60 minute walks will feature gentle movement, seasonal wellbeing prompts, and time to share a hot drink and conversation afterwards.
To make the walks accessible to all, warm coats, waterproofs, hats, gloves and suitable footwear will be available for anyone in need, thanks to community donations.
Rachel Richards has said:
“Winter can be a difficult time for many people, especially with darker days and colder weather. These walks are a simple way to bring people together, keep moving, and feel better in ourselves.”
The Winter Wellbeing Walks are open to all adults, with a particular welcome extended to women and anyone experiencing isolation, low motivation or reduced physical activity. No booking is required and all abilities are welcome.
Refreshments are included.
