TV legend Fred Dinenage is to dive into the lives of the ultimate criminal gang lords of the London underworld – The Krays – during a special evening at Shanklin Theatre later this month.
Islanders are being invited to join Fred on Thursday 19th October as he discloses what it was like to venture into some of Britain’s toughest institutions and meet the most foreboding twins in criminal history, who other journalists just couldn’t get close to.
Fred, who many will know for his years as an anchor on ITV Meridian, was chosen by the twins to tell their official story – he became part of the inner circle and gained an unparalleled insight into Ronnie and Reggie’s lives. And it all started with a letter from HMP Parkhurst…
In this show, to be hosted by radio’s Alex Dyke, 81-year-old Fred will reveal stories and situations for the first time that have never been told publicly before. It will be his 1st visit to Shanklin Theatre, believe it or not.
You’ll hear stories that will fascinate and intrigue, while learning about the gritty reality of being a gangster in the criminal underworld of the swinging 60s, from the only man they trusted to tell their tale.
Tickets for the evening event on Thursday 19th October are priced at just £20 and are available via the Box Office on 01983 868000 or at https://www.shanklintheatre.com/events/ronnie_reggie_and_me_with_fred_dinenage/details.aspx.
