Former stunt performer turned fundraiser, Eddie Kidd OBE, has celebrated his 63rd birthday on the Isle of Wight this week – and was treated to a special surprise singsong from a cohort of Armed Police officers.
Whilst enjoying the sun at Yarmouth Harbour, friends of the famous face managed to arrange for the group of 12 officers to sing ‘Happy Birthday’.
It’s known that Armed Police have been conducting training on the Solent in recent weeks and regularly stop off at Yarmouth.
Eddie Kidd once held world records for jumping over cars and buses on his motorcycle and was even a stunt double in at least 2 James Bond films. However, Eddie was paralysed and suffered brain damage following an accident in August 1996 – just 3 years after he jumped clear of the Great Wall of China.
Since then, Eddie Kidd has been raising money for charity and was awarded an OBE for his services in 2012.
